Water — the precious substance

Gesundes Wasser in natürlicher Umgebung

Both we human beings and the earth's surface consist of up to 75% of one of our most vital elements: water. However, not only the quantity, but, above all, the tasks that it fulfils in our body indicate the importance of water.

For example, water sustains all our cells because it is the only substance that dissolves all important nutrients from out food and transports them through the cell membrane into the cell's interior.

It regulates our temperature and our metabolism. Concomitantly, it ensures that, similar to a waste water system, toxic substances are transported out of the body. From the brain (which incidentally consists of 85% water) down to the big toe (through whose vessels blood only pulses because of its liquid content), water sustains, cleans, and maintains the bodily functions. An adequate water supply increases the body's energy turnover, optimizes brain function and can thus improve the brain's intellectual capacity. Even our largest organ, the skin (which comprises 80% water), reacts to water supply. An adequate supply of water (2 to 3 litres a day) keeps it healthy, and supple, and can even work against the aging process.
